Description

I couldn't think of a decent title for this.
For some non-technical reason, I really love this picture.

I love reflections <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/a…" width="15" height="15" alt=":aww:" title="Aww"/> The way water ripples and distorts a reflection is always cool to capture <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/> The colors also nice.

The rock next to the deer's head is really distracting though. For photographs of reflections, I generally recommend using a polarizing filter. I'm sure you can find more about how polarizing filters work via google, but in general a polarizing filter will help you better capture more of the reflection and less of the bedrock. So hopefully that will help at least minimize the appearance of that rock.

I'm not sure what composition you were going for. The photo looks more like a quick snap, maybe because the deer was moving and time was not on your side, than a well composed photograph. But either way, I recommend you look at some basic composition rules such as rule of thirds or golden mean. For shots like this, I probably would take the photo with more negative space than I think I need so I can at least crop to the desired composition in post editing.

I feel like the photo needs to be rotated about 5 degrees clockwise mainly due to the parts of the reflected ground that are visible.

Hope this helps <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
